Call for Student Volunteers

The Conference of Interpreter Trainers is looking for students currently studying to become interpreters to assist by volunteering at our CIT Conference this fall. Students do not receive compensation or travel. They can partake of conference meals served as part of the conference program (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, morning and afternoon snack breaks). By volunteering, students will have the opportunity to see high quality interpreting services, ASL and English presentations, as well as, the inner workings of a national conference. Students will assist in all parts of the conference work, including workshops, business meeting, etc.

Requirements for consideration:

  • Must be enrolled and registered in an Interpreter Education Program or
  • Recent graduate of an Interpreter Education Program (within one year)
  • Possess good communication skills in both ASL and English
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Time commitment: Monday, October 15 to Saturday, October 21

Letter of Interest:

  • Your name
  • A brief introduction and why you would like to become a student representative.
  • Provide 2 letters of recommendation from your IEP faculty. References should , at a minimum, address the following:
    • ASL and English Communication Skills
    • Character (responsibility, commitment, hard-working, etc).
    • Organizational skills and time management
