CIT Conference Scholarships

In support of over half of the members of CIT who are employed on a part-time basis and have no institutional support to attend professional development conferences, the Board is pleased to announce that four scholarships will be awarded to members to attend the 2012 Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Preference will be given to applicants who have not yet been awarded a scholarship.

International Scholarships:  For applicants residing outside of North America. These scholarships include conference registration and travel up to $400 per recipient.

Domestic Scholarships: For applicants residing in North America. Each scholarship includes conference registration and travel up to $400 per recipient.

Criteria:

  • Applicants must be a current member of CIT.
  • Domestic applicants must be part-time teachers, mentors, or interpreter/ASL workshop presenters.  International applicants may be employed full time as an instructor, mentor, etc.
  • Applicants must commit to writing a reflection (no longer than one page) within two weeks after the conference which summarizes personal highlights of the experience and submit it to the Scholarship Chair for inclusion in the final report to the CIT Board.

To apply:
Submit a letter of interest that includes:

  • How attending the conference will contribute to your professional development
  • Statement of need
  • Your current work in the field (e.g., part time at a college or university, mentorship, workshop presenter, etc.)
  • Your contact information
