Who May Join?

CIT serves an international community of interpreter educators. While the membership consists primarily of teachers of ASL/English Interpreting and teachers of ASL, the organization welcomes educators and other professionals who share CIT's goals, regardless of language combination, spoken or signed.

Joining Online

CIT now has an online database system which allows members to join online. Joining this way makes for much less work on the part of the board and allows more emphasis on projects and programs that directly impact our mission. Please consider joining your membership this way. Payment is via PayPal and allows for secure payment through a credit card or your PayPal account. (If you have previously been a member and have received a renewal reminder via email, use the Renewal option.) Click here to join.

Renewing Your Membership

If you have previously been a member and have received a renewal reminder, you can quickly renew your membership by using the User Name and password that you were sent to log in. Once you log in, you will see a membership information page like what is shown below. Under Add/Renew subscription, choose a Membership level from the drop-down menu. Click here to renew.

Changing Your Password/Editing Your Profile

On your Member page, under Useful Links, there is an option to Change Password/Edit Profile. Using this, you can change your address or any of your contact information. You can also choose to have it listed as private. This allows you to ensure that CIT has your more up-to-date information.

First-Time Members (Pro-rated costs)

First-time members are able to join as members and pay a pro-rated fee when you join midway into the membership year.

  • Nov - Jan: 100%
  • Feb - April: 75%
  • May - July: 50%
  • Aug - Oct: Get a full year of membership plus whatever time is left until Oct 31 extra. (So, if you join on August 1, 2009 as a Full Member, you would pay $100, but you membership would last until October 31, 2010.)

These pro-rated memberships are available only to first-time members. Click here to join online for first time.
