The only award made by CIT is named in honor of Mary Stotler, a founding member and former Board member of CIT. Mary was an interpreter and interpreter educator in Seattle, WA, greatly revered by the Deaf Community. The award is made jointly with RID.

The 2012 award was presented in Charlotte to Marty Taylor. CIT extends both congratulations and gratitude to Marty, this very deserving recipient of the Mary Stotler Award.
