This is Kentucky! I am here in Lexington, and you may be wondering why? The Board gathered together to meet and discuss the 2016 conference planning, including cost of registration, hotel accommodations, and logistics of the conference. We were really satisfied with what we decided.
We also met and worked with our Kentucky committee who will be hosting us, and I think you will really enjoy what they are putting together! The conference hotel is the Hilton and Carole will provide more details in the future.
Upon conferring with the Board, I would like to let you know that our Director of Communications and Technology, “Wink” Smith, has decided to step down from his position to devote his attention to personal matters. Realizing how much he cared for and supported CIT, he decided it was time to leave his position and extends his thanks to you. The Board also thanks him for his hard work over the years. Thank you “Wink”!
Though we did not yet finish, the Board did work on our Strategic Planning and we will continue to do so when we return sometime next May. You will see our finished product in 2016, detailing our projections for the next five years, as well as the next ten years for CIT.
First of all, I would like to thank you all for watching the WASLI Vlogs, days 1, 2, 3, and so on. They were such a hit, which shows it really is worth it to have a Facebook page, right!? Continue to check Facebook, your email, and the website, along with CIT News! If you find that there is something missing, contact us! Don’t put it off, do it!
Remember, our mission statement emphasizes camaraderie: camaraderie between the Deaf community, interpreting students, and teachers. Thank you!
